  1. My entire family gets together, almost on a weekly basis. We talk to each other on a daily basis. My sister, my brother-in-law, my Father, my brother(til just recently), my husband, and I are all in health care. Since hospitals are open all day, every day, all year round, that the patients and families in the hospitals are celebrating holidays there. While most employees want to go "home" to celebrate with their families. We've all decided to put ourselves on the schedule if we're not already scheduled. That way, our co-workers don't have to struggle to trade days, and our family can ALWAYS celebrate the day after. We do the same thing for Christmas. Oh...and the holiday pay is nice too! :)

  2. We read many stories about the true meaning of thanksgiving and make sure to pray for each one of the members of our family and extended family. We also make sure that we talk to each one of the family members on Thanksgiving -- even if they are not with us on that day. We try to make thankfulness a daily thing and not just something that we reserve for a holiday... we are trying to teach the kids that God is the Giver and Creator of EVERYTHING! That is truly important to us!
