Welcome to MOPS and MOPS NEXT at First Federated Church!

MOPS/MOPS NEXT stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and into the next step -- Elementary school. We exist to meet the needs of every mom -- moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS/MOPS NEXT recognizes that the years of infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. MOPS/MOPS NEXT helps moms through relationships estabilished in the context of local groups that provide a caring atmosphere for today's mother of young children. Come join us at Federated to begin your quest to be the mom God intended you to be!

  1. This is a long held family tradition for my family and it dates back to generations showing cattle at the Iowa State Fair and local County Fairs. We actually have a campsite at the State Fair that you might not have known that there is a camper city on the east side of the Fairgrounds. It is worth the tractor-trailer ride up through the camper city to see all the fun up there to be had.

    Things to Do:
*Blue Ribbon Kids have projects lined up in the afternoons (located by Anderson Erickson Stage)
*Sipping Lemonade at Pioneer Hall and listen to the side shows
    *Riding the Sky Glider
*Riding the Yellow Slide then enjoying food at Beattie's Fruit Stand (family friend). They have great fruit and great pulled pork sandwiches.
*Watching the excitement at the Governor's Charity Steer Show and the Grand Champion Steer Show
*Lambburgers are great (by the Sheep building)
*Strolling through the Agriculture building and letting the kids go through the sweet pea covered tunnel outside
    *Ye Old Mill Ride
*Looking at the ugly cake decorating and beautiful cakes in the Elwell Food Building
*Look for the Cinnamon Roll Stand across the Livestock Pavilion
    *Listen to the live music
*Check out the new horse barn
*4-H building highlights what 4-Her's have made and the ribbons they received for their effort and sometimes they will have projects for kids to do there
*Best bathrooms - 4-H building, Livestock Pavilion and Blue Metal Building located next to Iowa Beef Headquarters
    *Train Exhibit
*Look at the baby animals in the Knapp Animal Center
    *Little Helping Hands Farm
*Strawberry Fruit Smoothies are a must as well as the Footlongs with grilled onions, Corn Dogs, Dipping Dots, Bauder's Ice Cream, Ice Water and Rice Krispies on a Stick sponsored by Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation

The list can go on and on. Just remember to have fun and wear good walking shoes!
